2. The Parties agree that the activities of the littoral States on the Caspian Sea must be conducted in keeping with the following principles:
٢ - الطرفان متفقان على ضرورة أن تكون اﻷنشطة التي تضطلع بها الدول المطلة على بحر قزوين قائمة على المبادئ التالية:

- And compliance with any other principles that may be agreed upon among the littoral States.
- التقيد بأي شروط أو مبادئ أخرى قد تتفق عليها الدول المطلة على البحر.

They will not help in removing misunderstandings in a region where all littoral States should be concerned with peace, security and tranquillity.
ولن تساهم هذه الرسائل في إزالة حالات سوء التفاهم في منطقة ينبغي لكل الدول المطلة على شواطئها أن تكون مشغولة بالسلام واﻷمن والسكينة.

The Assembly was established to bring together all the littoral States of the Mediterranean on an equal footing in a unique forum of their own, to examine questions and take decisions on issues of direct interest to the countries of the region.
