This included the quantitative framework prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat investigating development prospects for the Palestinian economy up to the year 2010, which had been supplied to the World Bank following its designation by the sponsors of the Peace Conference on the Middle East, at Madrid, to investigate prospects for regional economic cooperation.

١٦٣ - واستندت المناقشات المتعلقة ببرنامج عمل اﻷمم المتحدة لصالح أقل البلدان نموا إلى التقرير الذي أعدته أمانة اﻷونكتاد عن أقل البلدان نموا للفترة ١٩٩٣- ١٩٩٤.

8. The representative of Palestine said that the report prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat was comprehensive and objective in its treatment of developments in the Palestinian economy, the obstacles facing it as a result of Israeli occupation and the ways of removing those obstacles and improving the living conditions of the Palestinian people.
٨ ـ وقال ممثل فلسطين إن التقرير الذي أعدته أمانة اﻷونكتاد تقرير شامل وموضوعي في معالجته لتطورات الاقتصاد الفلسطيني، ولما يواجهه هذا الاقتصاد من عقبات نتيجة للاحتلال الاسرائيلي، وﻷساليب إزالة هذه العقبات وتحسين اﻷحوال المعيشية للشعب الفلسطيني.

٩٤- وعُمم التقرير الذي أعدته أمانة اﻷونكتاد " مكانة العوارية العامة في التأمين البحري اليوم " على الوفود في مؤتمر اللجنة البحرية الدولية.

(ii) At its fourteenth session held from 6 to 10 March 1995, the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Restrictive Business Practices took note of the compilation of commentaries prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat, as contained in TD/B/RBP/Misc.16.

8. It appears from the replies received to the questionnaire prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat that many developing countries have not planned any form of financial leasing legislation, and have no experience in the leasing of ships.
٨- ويظهر من الردود الواردة على الاستبيان الذي أعدته أمانة اﻷونكتاد أن الكثير من البلدان النامية لم يخطط لاعتماد أي شكل من أشكال التشريع فيما يتصل بالتأجير التمويلي، وأنه ليست لديه خبرة في تأجير السفن.

12. In concluding, he expressed his full support for the programme of technical assistance prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat in coordination with the Palestinian Authority, which reflected needs in the areas of trade, finance and transport, and he called for the provision of the necessary funds to implement the programme.
١٢ - وختم كلمته باﻹعراب عن تأييده الكامل لبرنامج المساعدة التقنية الذي أعدته أمانة اﻷونكتاد بالتنسيق مع السلطة الفلسطينية، هذا البرنامج الذي يعكس احتياجات في مجالات التجارة والمالية والنقل، ودعا إلى توفير التمويل اللازم لتنفيذ البرنامج.

2. The Secretary-General has the honour to transmit to the Economic and Social Council and the General Assembly the attached report (see annex), which was prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat in pursuance of resolution 50/95.

With a view to facilitating the tasks of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts, the secretariat has prepared a study on " Options and proposals for harmonization, simplification and improvement of the rules of origin " (TD/B/SCP/AC.1/2) and a " Summary of replies received from preference-giving and preference-receiving countries to the questionnaire prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat " (TD/B/SCP/AC.1/2/Add.1).
