The report is supposed to contain information on discussions within the COP on GEF activities for financing the agreed incremental costs of activities concerning desertification.

واتُّفق على أن يُعدّ مرفق البيئة العالمية تقريراً يقدمه إلى مؤتمر الأطراف في كل دورة عادية من دوراته عن طريق أمانة الاتفاقية، ويتناول فيه استراتيجياته وبرامجه ومشاريعه من أجل تمويل التكاليف الزائدة المتفق عليها للأنشطة المتعلقة بالتصحر.

Reporting The GEF will prepare a report for information to be submitted to each regular session of the Conference of the Parties through the UNCCD Secretariat on its strategies, programmes and projects for financing the agreed incremental costs of activities concerning desertification.
يعد مرفق البيئة العالمية تقريراً للعلم يقدم إلى كل دورة عادية من دورات مؤتمر الأطراف من خلال أمانة الاتفاقية عن استراتيجياته وبرامجه ومشاريعه من أجل تمويل التكاليف الزائدة المتفق عليها للأنشطة المتعلقة بالتصحر.

(b) Promote the mobilization of adequate, timely and predictable financial resources, including new and additional funding from the Global Environment Facility of the agreed incremental costs of those activities concerning desertification that relate to its four focal areas, in conformity with the relevant provisions of the Instrument establishing the Global Environment Facility;

It operates " as a mechanism for international cooperation for the purpose of providing new and additional grant and concessional funding to meet the agreed incremental costs of measures to achieve agreed global environmental benefits. " GEF could conceivably serve the Rotterdam Convention in three ways:
