Lieutenant alZu'bi was part of the Syrian Armed Forces in Jordan, where he was captured and detained by the Jordanian governmental forces.
وكان الضابط الزعبي ضمن أفراد القوات المسلحة السورية في الأردن حيث ألقى القبض عليه واحتجزته القوات الأردنية.

14. Ms. Al-Zaabi (United Arab Emirates) said that her country continued to make significant progress in implementing Agenda 21 and the outcomes of the World Summit on Sustainable Development.

Mr. Zoubi (Jordan) (spoke in Arabic): We are meeting today to debate agenda item 13, on the situation in the Middle East, and we urgently need to consider practical measures that would allow us to break the stalemate.

31. Mr. Zoubi (Jordan) said that his Government was convinced of the importance of the human dimension for sustainable development and that it therefore emphasized the education and training of young people.

17. Mr. Alzaabi (United Arab Emirates) said that the Palestinian people continued to suffer from a humanitarian crisis as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation, hostile Israeli policies and Israeli war crimes against them.
17- السيد الزعبي (الإمارات العربية المتحدة): قال إن الشعب الفلسطيني يظل يعاني من أزمة إنسانية نتيجة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي المستمر والسياسات الإسرائيلية المعادية وجرائم الحرب الإسرائيلية ضده.

33. Mr. Alzaabi (United Arab Emirates) said the world had become increasingly aware of the importance of digital technology as a means of disseminating information and in bringing people together.

In 1974, the authorities of Jordan handed Mr. alZu'bi over to the authorities of Syria.
وفي 1974 سلمت السلطات الأردنية السيد الزعبي إلى السلطات السورية.

Mr. alZu'bi was acquitted of the charges against him in connection with the attempted coup d'état of 8 September 1966.
فقد برئت ساحة السيد الزعبي من التهم التي كانت موجهة إليه فيما يتعلق بمحاولة الانقلاب في 8 أيلول/سبتمبر 1966.

21. Ms. Al-Zaabi (United Arab Emirates) said that the various global crises were threatening to derail sustainable development and damage global security and peace.

Zuabi managed to get away, making it back to the Israeli army checkpoint where he reported the incident.
