His delegation therefore welcomed the Swiss initiative in cooperation with ICRC that had resulted in the Montreux Document on Pertinent International Legal Obligations and Good Practices for States related to Operations of private military and security companies during Armed Conflict.

To date thirty-five States had expressed support for the Montreux Document, a text on pertinent international legal obligations and good practices for States related to operations of private military and security companies during armed conflict, which was the result of a joint initiative by Switzerland and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

In 2008, 17 States finalized the " Montreux Document on Pertinent International Legal Obligations and Good Practices for States related to Operations of private military and security companies during Armed Conflict " which is the result of an initiative launched jointly by Switzerland and ICRC in 2006.

The main elements of this policy include the above-mentioned criteria for the use of armed private security companies, which are in accordance with international law and in compliance with the Montreux Document on pertinent international legal obligations and good practices for States related to operations of private military and security companies during armed conflict.

2. Any specific jurisdiction or legal matters related to the investigations of crimes committed by the personnel of PMSCs in providing their services in the territory of another State party or State not party to the present Convention, or agreements of extradition, may be regulated by an additional international agreement concluded between these States.
2- يجوز تنظيم أي ولاية قضائية أو شؤون قانونية محددة تتعلق بالتحقيق في الجرائم التي يرتكبها موظفو الشركات العسكرية والأمنية الخاصة أثناء تقديم خدماتهم في إقليم دولة طرف أخرى أو دولة ليست طرفاً في هذه الاتفاقية، أو اتفاقات التسليم، بموجب اتفاق دولي إضافي يُبرم بين هذه الدول.
