We therefore urge the United States and the international community at large to stay the course in Somalia and to shoulder their responsibility to the Somali people in the hour of their greatest need.
ومن ثم نحث الولايات المتحدة والمجتمع الدولي كله على مواصلة مهمتهما في الصومال وعلى تحمل مسؤوليتهما تجاه الشعب الصومالي في وقت شدته.

I condemn in the strongest terms the reprehensible targeting of people supporting the Somali people in their efforts to combat the organized crime that is hindering the development of their country.
وإنني أدين بأشد العبارات الاعتداءات المشينة التي تستهدف أناسا يقدمون الدعم إلى الشعب الصومالي في مكافحة الجريمة المنظمة التي تعرقل تنمية بلده.

At the London conference on Somalia 10 days ago, the international community set out a vision for bringing peace to Somalia and for supporting the Somali people in their search for a better future for their country.
في مؤتمر لندن المعني بالصومال المعقود قبل عشرة أيام، حدد المجتمع الدولي رؤية لإحلال السلام في الصومال ودعم الشعب الصومالي في سعيه إلى مستقبل أفضل لبلده.

Expressing its appreciation for the improvements in the overall situation, which have been achieved by the United Nations Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM II), in particular, eradication of starvation, establishment of a large number of district councils, opening of schools and resumption by the Somali people in most areas of the country of their normal lives,
وإذ يعرب عن تقديره لما طرأ من تحسن على الحالة بوجه عام، اﻷمر الذي تحقق على يد عملية اﻷمم المتحدة الثانية في الصومال، ولاسيما القضاء على الجوع، وانشاء عدد كبير من مجالس المقاطعات، وفتح المدارس وعودة الشعب الصومالي في معظم مناطق البلد الى ممارسة حياته العادية،

6. Urges the Secretary-General to re-double his efforts at the local, regional and national levels, including encouraging broad participation by all sectors of Somali society, to continue the process of national reconciliation and political settlement, and to assist the people of Somalia in rehabilitating their political institutions and economy;
٦ - يحث اﻷمين العام على مضاعفة جهوده على المستويات المحلية والاقليمية والوطنية بما في ذلك تشجيع الاشتراك الواسع لجميع قطاعات المجتمع الصومالي، لمواصلة عملية المصالحة الوطنية والتسوية السياسية ومساعدة الشعب الصومالي في إعادة إنعاش مؤسساته السياسية واقتصاده؛

The draft resolution was proof that the international community attached great importance to the right of the Somali people to live in peace and security, in accordance with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
ووصفت مشروع القرار بأنه يقيم الدليل على اﻷهمية التي ينيطها المجتمع الدولي بحق الشعب الصومالي في العيش في سلام وأمن، وفقا للمبادئ الواردة في ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة واﻹعلان العالمي لحقوق اﻹنسان.

The Conference demonstrated the international community's political will and determination to support the Somali people as they build peace and stability in Somalia.
