Infrastructure projects are eligible for funding under the LDCF.

Reaffirming also the need to ensure complementarity of funding between the Least Developed Countries Fund and other funds with which the entity entrusted with the operation of the financial mechanism of the Convention is entrusted,
وإذ يكرر أيضاً تأكيد الحاجة إلى ضمان تكامل التمويل بين الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً والصناديق الأخرى المعهود بها إلى الكيان المعهود إليه بتشغيل الآلية المالية،

(b) the Least Developed Countries Fund should serve farmers as a finance mechanism for adaptation issues;

Decides to adopt the following additional guidance to an entity entrusted with the operation of the financial mechanism of the Convention, for the operation of the Least Developed Countries Fund established under decisions 5/CP.7 and 7/CP.7;

It operates under the adaptation programme, Integrating Climate Change Risk in the Agriculture and Health Sector in Samoa, financed by the Least Developed Countries Fund.
وهذه الشراكة تعمل في إطار برنامج التكيف، المسمى " إدماج الاعتبارات المتصلة بمخاطر التغيُّر المناخي في قطاعيّ الزراعة والصحة في ساموا " ، الممول من الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً.

33. A representative of the GEF Secretariat gave a presentation on how education, training and public awareness activities are implemented as integral adaptation measures in LDCs through support provided by the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF).
33- قدم ممثل مرفق البيئة العالمية عرضاً بشأن كيفية تنفيذ أنشطة التثقيف والتدريب والتوعية باعتبارها تدابير أساسية للتكيف في أقل البلدان نمواً، وذلك من خلال الدعم المقدم من الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً.

With the conclusion of the preparation phase of NAPAs, countries are expected to submit project proposals under the LDCF for NAPA implementation.
65- ومع اختتام مرحلة إعداد خطط العمل الوطنية للتكيف، يتوقع أن تقدّم البلدان مقترحات مشاريع في إطار الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً من أجل تنفيذ خطط العمل الوطنية للتكيّف.

Several details were considered relating to the programmatic and project-based approaches to NAPA implementation and the possibility of developing regional projects for funding under the LDCF.
ونُظِر في عدة تفاصيل تتعلق بالنُهُج البرنامجية والقائمة على أساس المشاريع التي تُتَّبع إزاء تنفيذ برامج العمل الوطنية للتكيف، وإمكانية وضع مشاريع إقليمية للتمويل في إطار الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً.

Of particular interest to LDC Parties were issues related to the co-financing of projects, the experiences of LDCs in preparing proposals for funding from the LDCF, and the experiences of the GEF and its agencies in supporting NAPA implementation with resources from the LDCF as well as from other sources.
17- وحظيت باهتمام شديد من قِبَل الأطراف من أقل البلدان نمواً مسائل تتصل بالتمويل المشترك للمشاريع، وتجارب أقل البلدان نمواً في إعداد اقتراحات طلب التمويل من الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً، وتجارب مرفق البيئة العالمية ووكالاته في دعم تنفيذ برامج العمل الوطنية للتكيف بموارد من الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً وكذلك من مصادر أخرى.

The LEG considered the various issues which emerged from the stocktaking meeting related to NAPA implementation, including: implementation strategy; integration of adaptation into national development planning; the LDCF funding modalities and other opportunities for funding adaptation; and assistance by the GEF agencies as well as other agencies.
21- ونظر فريق الخبراء المعني بأقل البلدان نمواً في مختلف المسائل التي نشأت عن اجتماع الاستعراض والتقييم فيما يتعلق بتنفيذ برامج العمل الوطنية للتكيف بما فيها المسائل التالية: استراتيجية التنفيذ؛ وإدماج التكيف في التخطيط الإنمائي الوطني؛ وصيغ التمويل من الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً وغيرها من فرص تمويل التكيف؛ والمساعدة التي تقدمها وكالات مرفق البيئة العالمية وغيرها من الوكالات.

Consider providing further guidance for the operation of the LDC Fund (decision 8/CP.8).

2. Does the LDC Fund need eligibility criteria to address issues such as adaptive capacity, relationship to climate change, urgency and immediacy? If there are eligibility criteria, what can be done when there are issues of meeting eligibility?
2- هل يحتاج الصندوق الخاص لأقل البلدان نمواً إلى معايير أهلية لمعالجة مسائل مثل القدرة على التكيف، والعلاقة بتغير المناخ، ومدى العجلة والضرورة؟ وفي حالة وجود معايير للأهلية، ما الذي يمكن عمله عندما يثير الوفاء بهذه المعايير مشاكل؟

The group noted that the LEG work programme includes activities other than NAPAs, that the LDC Fund would not be the only source of support for NAPAs, and that criteria were needed to address eligibility and prioritization of projects to be supported from the LDC Fund.
