Suggestions were made to the effect that the Meeting of States Parties should receive an annual report from the Secretary-General of the United Nations on issues of a general nature that had arisen with respect to the Convention pursuant to its article 319.

To that end, the Meeting of States Parties would receive a report from the Secretary-General of the United Nations every year on issues of a general nature that had arisen with respect to the Convention, as provided for in article 319 of the Convention.
