2.7.9 Requirements and controls for transport of excepted packages

An excepted package shall be designed to meet the requirements specified in 6.4.2 and in addition, the requirements of 6.4.3 if carried by air.

2.7.9.7 The following provisions do not apply to excepted packages and the controls for transport of excepted packages:

1.5.1.5.1 excepted packages which may contain radioactive material in limited quantities, instruments, manufactured articles and empty packagings as specified in 2.7.2.4.1 may be transported under the following conditions:

" 1.5.1.5.1 excepted packages which may contain radioactive material in limited quantities, instruments, manufactured articles and empty packagings as specified in 2.7.2.4.1 shall be subject only to the following provisions of Parts 5 to 7:

5.1.5.4.2 The documentation requirements of Chapter 5.4 do not apply to excepted packages of radioactive material, except that the UN number preceded by the letters " UN " shall be shown on a transport document such as a bill of lading, air waybill or other similar document. " . Chapter 5.2

1.5.1.5.2 The following provisions do not apply to excepted packages and the controls for transport of excepted packages: Chapter 1.4, 2.7.4.1, 2.7.2.3.3.2, 4.1.9.1.3, 4.1.9.1.4, 4.1.9.1.6, 4.1.9.1.7, 5.1.3.2, 5.2.2.1.12.1, 5.4.1.5.7.1, 5.4.1.5.7.2, 5.4.1.6, 6.4.6.1, 7.1.7.5.1, 7.1.7.5.3 to 7.1.7.5.5, 7.1.8.1.1, 7.1.8.1.3, 7.1.8.3.1, 7.1.8.6.1 and section 7.2.4.

(c) If the excepted package contains fissile material, one of the fissile exceptions provided by 2.7.2.3.5 shall apply and the requirement of 6.4.7.2 shall be met; and
