1. Encourages States to accomplish progressively the following set of human rights voluntary goals:

Taking note with appreciation of the broad support for the initiative to elaborate a set of human rights voluntary goals, inspired by the Millennium Development Goals, which led to the adoption, by consensus, of Council resolution 6/26,
وإذ يحيط علماً مع التقدير بالدعم الكبير الذي حظيت به مبادرة إعداد مجموعة من الأهداف الطوعية في مجال حقوق الإنسان، بالاسترشاد بالأهداف الإنمائية للألفية، مما أدى إلى اعتماد قرار المجلس 6/26 بالإجماع،

Emphasizing that such human rights voluntary goals are to be regarded as reinforcing and by no means as replacing, either totally or partially, existing human rights obligations and commitments, including the implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
وإذ يؤكد وجوبَ اعتبار هذه الأهداف الطوعية في مجال حقوق الإنسان أهدافاً معزِّزة للالتزامات والتعهدات القائمة في مجال حقوق الإنسان، بما في ذلك تنفيذ الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان، لا أهدافاً تحل بأي شكل كان، جزئياً أو كلياً، محل هذه الالتزامات والتعهدات،

5. Invites States to report on the status of the implementation of these human rights voluntary goals on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
5- يدعو الدول إلى تقديم تقارير عن وضع تنفيذ هذه الأهداف الطوعية في مجال حقوق الإنسان بمناسبة الاحتفال بمرور سبعين عاماً على صدور الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان؛

In the same resolution, the Council also decided to consider the results of the open-ended intergovernmental process in elaborating a set of human rights voluntary goals to be submitted to the Council, on a consensual basis, through a draft resolution, by its session in September 2008.
