The Committee adopted a general recommendation which, inter alia, urges States parties to take measures to prevent racial violence against Roma people and to improve their standards of living.

The Committee recommends that the State party continue its efforts to prevent and counter effectively attitudes and acts of racial violence against persons belonging to minority groups, mainly Roma, and persons of African or Asian origin, and take additional measures to ensure the effective and timely handling of court cases of racially motivated crime and punishment of the perpetrators.
٦٢١- توصي اللجنة بأن تواصل الدولة الطرف جهودها من أجل منع ومناهضة مواقف وأعمال العنف العنصري ضد اﻷشخاص الذين ينتمون لجماعات اﻷقليات، ومجتمع الغجر أساساً، واﻷشخاص الذين ينحدرون من أصل أفريقي أو آسيوي والتصدي لها بفعالية، وأن تتخذ تدابير إضافية لضمان قيام المحاكم بالنظر في القضايا المتعلقة بالجرائم ذات الدوافع العنصرية ومعاقبة مرتكبيها بصورة فعالة وفي الوقت المناسب.
