A number of excellent examples from the United States and Norway had been presented at the recent launch of the thematic report presenting the outcomes of the expert consultation on the prevention of and responses to violence against children within the justice system.

VI. Recommended strategies to prevent and respond to violence against children in the juvenile justice system

100. States should create mechanisms to involve the media in the process aimed at ensuring that the community at large supports Government efforts to prevent and respond to violence against children within the juvenile justice system.
100- وينبغي للدول إنشاء آليات لإشراك وسائط الإعلام في الإجراء الرامي إلى ضمان أن يدعم المجتمع المحلي عامة الجهود التي تبذلها الحكومة من أجل منع العنف ضد الأطفال والتصدي له في إطار نظام قضاء الأحداث.

3. The Expert Consultation focused on the risks and systemic factors contributing to violence against children within the juvenile justice system, and strategies and practical recommendations to prevent and respond to violence against children within the juvenile justice system.

In this overall framework, in the immediate future, special emphasis will be placed on preventing and addressing violence against children in two particular settings: education and the administration of justice.
