Accordingly, paragraph 2 should read as follows: " The arbitral tribunal may, at any time, after inviting the parties to express their views, extend or abridge any period of time prescribed under these Rules or agreed by the parties, provided that this does not include the power to alter the period of time for issuing the award. " .

Article 17: In paragraph 2, it needs to be stated that the power of the arbitral tribunal to change " any period of time " does not include the power to extend the period of time for issuing the award, inasmuch as the period of time for issuing the award is substantive: it is not to be determined by the arbitral tribunal but rather by the parties in establishing the arbitral tribunal's terms of reference.
