At the 783rd meeting, on 23 March, the Chairman made a statement briefly describing the work to be undertaken by the Subcommittee at its forty-eighth session.

133. In its resolution 1996/25, the Commission decided to invite the Chairman of the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session to report to the Commission at its fifty-third session on significant aspects of the work of the Sub-Commission.

122. It welcomed the final report submitted by the Special Rapporteur to the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session.
١٢٢- وأشادت المنظمة السودانية بالتقرير النهائي المقدم من المقررة الخاصة إلى اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الثامنة واﻷربعين.

In its resolution 1995/40, the Sub-Commission took note of the limited number of replies received and requested the Special Rapporteur to prepare a supplementary report and to submit it to the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session.

At its forty-seventh session, the Sub-Commission adopted decision 1995/116, entitled " Democratic society " , in which it requested Mr. Osman El-Hajjé to prepare, without financial implications, a working paper on democracy and the establishment of a democratic society, to be submitted to the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session.
٠٠١- وقد اعتمدت اللجنة الفرعية، في دورتها السابعة واﻷربعين، المقرر ٥٩٩١/٦١١ بعنوان " المجتمع الديمقراطي " ، الذي رجت فيه من السيد عثمان الحجة أن يعدّ، دون أن تترتب على ذلك آثار مالية، ورقة عمل عن الديمقراطية وإقامة المجتمع الديمقراطي لتقديمها الى اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الثامنة واﻷربعين.

In its decision 1995/118, the Sub-Commission expressed its satisfaction for the second progress report of the Special Rapporteur and requested him to submit a third progress report to the Working Group on Indigenous Populations at its fourteenth session and to the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session.
وأعربت اللجنة الفرعية، في مقررها ٥٩٩١/٨١١، عن ارتياحها للتقرير المرحلي الثاني المقدم من المقرر الخاص وطلبت إليه تقديم تقرير مرحلي ثالث إلى الفريق العامل المعني بالسكان اﻷصليين في دورته الرابعة عشرة وإلى اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الثامنة واﻷربعين.

In its resolution 1995/16, the Sub-Commission requested the Secretary-General to invite States to inform the Working Group of measures adopted to implement the Programme of Action and to submit a report thereon to the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session and to the Commission at its fifty-third session.

122. The attention of the Commission is also drawn to resolution 1996/8 and decision 1996/120 adopted by the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session (see E/CN.4/1997/2-E/CN.4/Sub.2/1996/41).

5. Notes that the Legal Subcommittee, at its forty-seventh session, will submit its proposals to the Committee for new items to be considered by the Subcommittee at its forty-eighth session, in 2009;

In a note verbale dated 13 August 2010, the Secretary-General invited Governments to provide by 22 October 2010 reports on research on space debris, the safety of space objects with nuclear power sources on board and problems relating to the collision of such space objects with space debris, so that the information could be submitted to the Subcommittee at its forty-eighth session.
وفي مذكّرة شفوية مؤرّخة 13 آب/أغسطس 2010، دعا الأمين العام الحكومات إلى أن تُقدّم بحلول 22 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2010 تقارير عن البحوث المتعلقة بالحطام الفضائي وأمان الأجسام الفضائية التي توجد على متنها مصادر قدرة نووية والمشاكل المتعلقة باصطدام هذه الأجسام الفضائية بالحطام الفضائي، من أجل تقديم هذه المعلومات إلى اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الثامنة والأربعين.

19. The members of the Subcommission are invited to consider the present report, with a view to proposing further elements that could enhance the drafting of guidelines on international events and forced evictions for the consideration of the Subcommission at its forty-eighth session.
٩١- ويُدْعى أعضاء اللجنة الفرعية إلى النظر في هذا التقرير بغرض اقتراح عناصر إضافية يمكن أن تحسﱢن صياغة المبادئ التوجيهية بشأن المناسبات الدولية وعمليات اﻹخلاء القسري كي تنظر فيها اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الثامنة واﻷربعين.
