The Committee noted that the Legal Subcommittee had considered the draft report of its Chairman to UNISPACE III on its work and had provided comments with the understanding that the final report would reflect the views of the Chairman and not necessarily the collective views of the Subcommittee.

107. The Committee noted that the Legal Subcommittee had considered the draft report of UNISPACE III an had provided comments that would be reflected in the text of the draft report to be considered at the Conference.

The Committee noted that, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 60/99, the Legal Subcommittee had continued its consideration of the review and possible revision of the Principles Relevant to the Use of Nuclear Power Sources in Outer Space (Assembly resolution 47/68) as a single issue/item for discussion.

The Committee noted that, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 59/116, the Legal Subcommittee had continued to consider as a regular item matters relating to: (a) the definition and delimitation of outer space; and (b) the character and utilization of the geostationary orbit, including consideration of ways and means to ensure the rational and equitable use of the geostationary orbit without prejudice to the role of ITU.
