On 24 September, the Committee on World Food Security of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) endorsed a set of voluntary guidelines to support the progressive realization of the right to adequate food in the context of national food security.

At its 46th plenary meeting, on 23 July 2010, the Economic and Social Council took note of the note by the Secretary-General transmitting a note by the Chair of the Committee on World Food Security on the reform of the Committee and on progress made towards implementation.

The United Nations General Assembly, in paragraph 34 of its resolution 64/224, invited the Chairperson of the Committee on World Food Security to report, as part of the Committee's report to the General Assembly at its sixty-fifth session, through the Economic and Social Council, on the implementation of the reform of and on progress made towards achieving the vision of the Committee.
2 - وقد دعت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، في الفقرة 34 من قرارها رقم 64/224، رئيس اللجنة المعنية بالأمن الغذائي العالمي إلى أن يضمن التقرير الذي ستقدمه اللجنة إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الخامسة والستين، من خلال المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، معلومات عن تنفيذ الإصلاحات المتعلقة بتحقيق رؤية اللجنة وعن التقدم المحرز في ذلك.

Thus, in order to avoid duplication, the Committee might envisage the possibility of using States' reports to CFS on the implementation of the World Food Summit Plan of Action.
وبالتالي يمكن للجنة لكي تتجنب الازدواجية أن تنظر في إمكانية استخدام تقارير الدول المقدمة إلى اللجنة المعنية باﻷمن الغذائي العالمي والمتعلقة بتنفيذ خطة عمل مؤتمر القمة العالمي لﻷغذية.
