In July 2006, Brazil hosted the Regional Conference of the Americas on the progress and challenges of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action.

Before that, in December 2000, Chile had hosted the Regional Conference of the Americas in preparation for the 2001 Durban World Conference.

77. An initiative at the subregional level is the intention of the Latin American youth caucus to monitor the implementation by State actors of the recommendations of the World Conference as well as the implementation of the final documents adopted at the Regional Conference of the Americas.

1. the Regional Conference of the Americas in preparation for the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance was held at Santiago from 5 to 7 December 2000, as mandated by the Commission on Human Rights in its resolution 1999/78 (para. 55).

On 29 July 2006, following the Regional Conference of the Americas and in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Government of Brazil, the Special Rapporteur organized an expert seminar on the issue of political platforms which incite racial discrimination.

33. OHCHR supported the organization of the Regional Conference of the Americas on the progress and challenges of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, which took place in Brasilia from 26 to 28 July 2006.

33. On 29 July 2006, following the Regional Conference of the Americas and in collaboration with the Office of the High Commissioner and the Government of Brazil, the Special Rapporteur organized an expert seminar on the issue of political platforms that incite racial discrimination.

At the regional level the Community took note of the convening of the Regional Conference of the Americas on Progress and Challenges in the Programme of Action against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in Brasilia in 2006, and called for enhancement of the participation of the hemisphere's subregions and greater representation of its linguistic diversity.
وعلي الصعيد الإقليمي, تحيط الجماعة الكاريبية علما بالقيام ببرازيليا في عام 2006 بعقد المؤتمر الإقليمي للأمريكتين بشأن التقدم المحرز والتحديات القائمة في مجال تنفيذ برنامج العمل المعني بمناهضة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب, وهي تنادي بزيادة تعزيز مشاركة المناطق الفرعية بنصف الكرة وتمثيل تنوعها اللغوي.

49. The Office extended support to the Regional Conference of the Americas against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance organized by the Governments of Brazil and Chile and held in Brasilia from 26 to 28 July 2006, on progress made and challenges remaining with regard to the effective implementation of the Durban Programme of Action.
49 - وقدمت المفوضية دعما إلى المؤتمر الإقليمي للأمريكتين لمناهضة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بها من تعصب، الذي نظمته حكومتا البرازيل وشيلي، وعقد في برازيليا في الفترة من 26 إلى 28 تموز/يوليه 2006، بشأن التقدم المحرز والتحديات المتبقية فيما يتعلق بالتنفيذ الفعال لبرنامج عمل ديربان.

The High Commissioner for Human Rights has the honour to transmit to the members of the Human Rights Council the report of the Regional Conference of the Americas on Progress and Challenges in the Programme of Action against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in Brasilia from 26 to 28 July 2006.
