After completion of consultations with staff representatives on the subject of staff relations, any proposed amendment to article VIII of the Staff Regulations and related changes in Chapter 8 of the Staff Rules will be submitted to the General Assembly for its consideration.

This provision recognizes that the duties of staff representatives are official functions (see article VIII of the Staff Regulations and chapter VIII of the Staff Rules).

Meanwhile, based on the General Assembly's decision to select one or more of the approaches outlined in this report, or any other, work would begin on the full elaboration of the conditions required for implementing the Assembly's decision, after full consultation with the staff in accordance with article VIII of the Staff Regulations and chapter 8 of the Staff Rules.

The rights, duties and obligations of staff representatives would be reviewed in the context of article VIII of the Staff Regulations and Chapter 8 of the Staff Rules, which deal with staff relations, rather than under Article I of the Staff Regulations and Chapter 1 of the Staff Rules, which are to be amended by the text presently before the General Assembly.
على أن تستعـرض حقوق ممثلي الموظفين وواجباتهم والتزاماتهم في إطار المادة الثامنة من النظام اﻷساسي للموظفين والفصل الثامن من النظام اﻹداري للموظفين، اللذين يتناولان العلاقات مــع الموظفين، عوضا عن استعراضهــا في إطار المادة اﻷولـى من النظام اﻷساسي للموظفين والفصل اﻷول من النظام اﻹداري للموظفين، اللذين سيعدلان بالنص المعروض حاليا على الجمعية العامة.

35. The decisions of the General Assembly have been implemented as follows: the limitations placed by the resolution affect elected staff representatives acting in that capacity under article VIII of the Staff Regulations and chapter 8 of the Staff Rules, and not staff elected to serve in other capacities, for instance as members of the Joint Appeals Board or the Joint Disciplinary Committee.
٣٥ - وقد نُفﱢذ ما قررته الجمعية العامة على النحو التالي: القيود التي يقضي بها هذا القرار تسري على ممثلي الموظفين المنتخبين العاملين بهذه الصفة، بموجب المادة الثامنة من النظام اﻷساسي للموظفين والفصل الثامن من النظام اﻹداري للموظفين. ولا تسري على الموظفين المنتخبين ليعملوا بصفات أخرى، الذين من قبيل الموظفين المنتخبين ليعملوا أعضاء في مجلس الطعون المشترك أو لجنة التأديب المشتركة.
