The informal working group completed a first reading of the drafts of the preamble, the statements OF PRINCIPLES AND goals and the commitments of the statement of principles and commitments and the global plan of action.

A solemn declaration by the Secretary-General of the United Nations formally reaffirming the Organization's commitment to honouring international human rights principles and obligations would be an important step towards making the Organization a full stakeholder in the application of rules adopted under its auspices.
ومن شأن صدور إعلان رسمي عن الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة يعيد فيه التأكيد رسمياً على التزام المنظمة، بصفتها تلك، إزاء المبادئ والتعهدات الدولية المتعلقة بحقوق الإنسان، أن يشكل محطة هامة على طريق جعل المنظمة من الجهات صاحبة المصلحة، بكل ما للمصطلح من معنى، فيما يتعلق بالقواعد التي تُعتمد برعايتها.
