(أ) أن تكفل تضمين تشريع نظام قضاء الأحداث وعُرفه أحكامُ الاتفاقية بكاملها، لا سيما المواد 37 و39 و40 منها، مع غيرها من المعايير الدولية ذات الصلة في هذا المجال، كقواعد بيجين، ومبادئ الرياض التوجيهية، وقواعد الأمم المتحدة لحماية الأحداث المحرومين من حريتهم، والمبادئ التوجيهية المتعلقة بالإجراءات الخاصة بالأطفال في نظام العدالة الجنائية؛

(b) Ensure that the criminal justice system fully integrates into its legislation and practice the provisions of the Convention, in particular articles 37, 39 and 40, as well as other relevant international standards in this area, such as the Beijing Rules, the Riyadh Guidelines, the United Nations Rules for the Protection of Juveniles Deprived of their Liberty and the Guidelines for Action on Children in the Criminal Justice System.

3. In Geneva, following his attendance at the first session of the Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur participated in the thirteenth annual meeting of mandate holders of the special procedures from 19 to 23 June 2006.

The attention of the Committee was drawn to Human Rights Council decision 1/102 to extend exceptionally for one year the mandates and the mandate holders of all the special procedures of the Commission on Human Rights, the Subcommission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights and the procedure established in accordance with Economic and Social Council resolution 1503 (XLVIII). However, he observed that the standard servicing resources available to OHCHR for special procedures mandates had not been sufficient to support the full range of activities envisaged by the Representative, especially in respect of his mainstreaming mandate.
