The Conference of the Parties requested that the Facility recognize the programme of work on island biodiversity and its relevance to small island developing States, provide support for implementation of the programme, and further simplify its procedures so as to take into account the special circumstances of small island developing States.
وقد طلب مؤتمر الأطراف من المرفق أن يتبنى برنامج العمل المتعلق بالتنوع البيولوجي للجزر ويدرك أهميته بالنسبة للدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية، وأن يقدم الدعم من أجل تنفيذ البرنامج، وأن يمضي في تبسيط إجراءاته كي يتسنى مراعاة الظروف الخاصة للدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية.

26. The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, at its ninth meeting, have identified six priority elements in the implementation of the programme of work on island biodiversity (decision IX/21, para. 6).

(b) In-depth review of the programme of work on island biodiversity (to be addressed at the sixteenth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, to be held in May 2012 in Montreal, Canada, as well as at the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties, to be held in October 2012 in Hyderabad, India.
