Pursuant to the above request, the present report contains a synthesis and analysis of the information provided by the United Nations agencies on their activities and contributions to the implementation of Assembly resolution 50/225 on public administration and development.

40. The initiatives of the Centre for International Crime Prevention related to the implementation of General Assembly resolution 50/225 on public administration and development are mainly connected to the activities undertaken to prevent and fight corruption and bribery.
٠٤ - ترتبط مبادرات مركز مكافحة الجريمة الدولية المتعلقة بتنفيذ قرار الجمعية العامة ٠٥/٥٢٢ المتعلق باﻹدارة العامة والتنمية، بصورة رئيسية، باﻷنشطة المضطلع بها لمنع ومكافحة الفساد والرشوة.

We have taken note with interest of the report of the Group of Experts on public administration and Finance, contained in document A/50/525, and of the report of the Secretary-General on public administration and development contained in document A/50/847.

9 A number of delegations expressed the view that all the provisions of General Assembly resolution 50/225 of 19 April 1996 on public administration and development should be reflected in subprogramme 8.1.

The recent African regional meeting on public administration and development, held from 25 March to 27 March 1996 in Namibia, on the subject of structural adjustment for greater government efficiency put its finger on this issue inn timely fashion.
والاجتماع اﻹقليمي الافريقي اﻷخير المتعلق باﻹدارة العامة والتنمية، الذي عقد في ناميبيا في الفتـــــرة من ٢٥ إلى ٢٧ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٦ بشأن موضوع التكيف الهيكلي مـــــن أجل زيادة كفاءة الحكومة تناول لُب هذه المسألة باﻷسلوب المناسب وفي الوقت المناسب.

75. The Meeting recommended that its fourteenth meeting be convened in May 1998 to review the progress made in implementation of the above-mentioned resolution and to provide inputs in preparation for the Secretary-General's report on public administration and development to be submitted to the General Assembly at its fifty-third session.
٧٥ - وأوصى الاجتماع بعقد الاجتماع الرابع عشر في أيار/مايو ١٩٩٨ لاستعراض التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ القرار اﻵنف الذكر ولتوفير مدخلات على سبيل اﻹعداد لتقرير اﻷمين العام المتعلق باﻹدارة العامة والتنمية الذي سيقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين.

15A.35 It is proposed to redeploy one D-1, one P-5, one P-4, two P-3 and three Local level posts to this subprogramme from the former subprogramme on public administration and fiscal affairs. The estimated requirements for these posts would amount to $1,249,900.
