59. Specific proposals have been made for establishing " an Ombudsman's Office that would not only advise indigenous and local communities on the protection of their resource rights and on benefit sharing, but represent them in their complaints relating to infringements of their resource rights " (WGTRR, 1996).

38. Parties have been encouraged to conduct case studies of the relationships between intellectual property rights and the knowledge, practices and innovations of indigenous and local communities.23 Parties have also been invited to share experiences on incentive measures and make relevant case studies available to the secretariat.
٣٨ - وجرى حث اﻷطراف على إجراء دراسات حالة إفرادية عن العلاقات بين حقوق الملكية الفكرية ومعارف المجتمعات المحلية ومجتمعات السكان اﻷصليين وممارساتها وابتكاراتها)٢٣( ودعيت اﻷطراف أيضا إلى تقاسم خبراتها بشأن التدابير الحافزة وإتاحة دراسات الحالة اﻹفرادية ذات الصلة لﻷمانة.

The financial mechanism has been requested to examine supporting capacity-building projects for indigenous and local communities embodying traditional lifestyles relevant for the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity with their prior informed consent and their participation.26
وطلب إلى آلية التمويل أن تدرس تدعيم مشاريع بناء القدرات في المجتمعات المحلية ومجتمعات السكان اﻷصليين التي تجسد أنماط الحياة التقليدية المتصلة بحفظ التنوع البيولوجي والاستخدام المستدام له وتنطوي على موافقة مسبقة عن علم من جانب هذه المجتمعات ثم تنفذ بمشاركة منها)٢٦(.
