Although the term " biological family " is not spelt out in this report, access to such information is a right guaranteed by law to every individual in Libyan Arab society.
36- رغم عدم وضوح مصطلع الأسرة البيولوجية في هذا التقرير، فإن الحصول على المعلومات حق يكفله القانون في المجتمع العربي الليبي لكل إنسان.

Libyan legislation paved the way for the provision of article 10 of the Convention concerning family reunification. The Convention therefore simply came to emphasize legislative procedures which were already in force in Libyan Arab society prior to adoption of the Convention.
158- وقد سبقت التشريعات الليبية ما نصت عليه المادة 10 بشأن جمع شمل الأسرة، بل إن الاتفاقية قد جاءت مؤكدة على إجراءات تشريعية معمول بها في المجتمع العربي الليبي حتى قبل صدور هذه الاتفاقية.

In this connection, it should be pointed out that the sector has sustained enormous material and humanitarian damage, affecting the Libyan population as a whole and most of the expatriates from Arab and other friendly countries living in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, as can be seen from the following examples.
وتجدر الملاحظة في هذا الصدد، أن قطاع الصحة والضمان الاجتماعي قد تعرض إلى أضرار بشرية ومادية فادحة، انعكست آثارها على كافة شرائح المجتمع العربي الليبي وامتدت أيضا إلى معظم أفراد الجاليات اﻷجنبية من مختلف الجنسيات المقيمة في ليبيا من الدول الشقيقة والصديقة.

64. Libyan Arab society guarantees freedom of belief under principle 10 of the Green Document which states: “The members of the society of the Jamahiriya are guided in their decisions by a divine law of established provisions which are not susceptible to change or substitution, the law of religion or custom.
٤٦- يؤمن المجتمع العربي الليبي بحرية المعتقد إذ ينص المبدأ العاشر على أن: " أبناء المجتمع الجماهيري يحتكمون إلى شريعة مقدسة ذات أحكام ثابتة لا تخضع للتغيير أو التبديل وهي الدين أو العرف.

In this respect, the Committee particularly welcomes the approval by the General People's Congress, in March 1997, of the Charter on the Rights and Duties of Women in the Libyan Arab society.
وفي هذا الصدد، ترحب اللجنة بوجه خاص بموافقة المؤتمر الشعبي العام، في آذار/مارس 1997، على ميثاق حقوق وواجبات المرأة في المجتمع العربي الليبي.

27. Libyan Arab society provides every child with legislative guarantees so that children are given the protection they need against all kinds of injustice, abuse, ill-treatment and exploitation, including the sale and prostitution of children. Legislation in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya therefore treats such practices as crimes, guided by the Holy Qur'an which is the country's social code.
٧٢- يتم توفير الضمانات القانونية في المجتمع العربي الليبي لكل طفل وبذلك تجد الطفولة الحماية اللازمة من كافة أشكال العسف والظلم وإساءة المعاملة والاستغلال بما في ذلك بيع ودعارة اﻷطفال، وعلى هذا اﻷساس تجرّم القوانين في الجماهيرية العربية الليبية مثل هذه الممارسات مهتدية بكتاب الله وشريعة المجتمع.

One of the new developments that promote the status of women in leadership positions and their active role in Libyan Arab society is the establishment in September 1992 of a new department of women's affairs in the secretariat of the General People's Congress to deal with women's issues and oversee the activities of women's organizations.
من المستجدات الحديثة لدعم مكانة المرأة على الصعيد القيادي ودورها الفعال في المجتمع العربي الليبي إنشاء أمانة جديدة داخل أمانة مؤتمر الشعب العام أنشئت في شهر أيلول/سبتمبر ١٩٩٢، تسمى أمانة شؤون المرأة، مهمتها الاهتمام بشؤون المرأة واﻹشراف على نشاط الجمعيات والروابط النسائية.

(a) Any legal, administrative or social obstacles in Libyan Arab society to preclude the entry of girls into any field of education or training at home or abroad have been removed;
(أ) لا يوجد في المجتمع العربي الليبي أي مانع قانوني أو إداري أو اجتماعي يمنع دخول الفتيات لأي مجال تعليمي أو تدريبي في الداخل أو الخارج؛

(b) A symposium on child employment in Libyan Arab society, which discussed various dimensions of the rights of the child and the dangers of child employment in the wake of a field study on child employment in Libyan Arab society;
