The present report presents a summary of discussion and recommendations of the fourth Social Forum which was held in Geneva on 3 and 4 august 2006.
يوجز هذا التقرير مناقشات وتوصيات المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع المعقود في جنيف في 3 و4 آب/أغسطس 2006.

4. The fourth Social Forum took place on 3 and 4 August 2006 in Geneva during the fiftyeighth session of the Sub-Commission.
4- عُقد المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع في يومي 3 و4 آب/أغسطس 2006 بجنيف، أثناء انعقاد دورة اللجنة الفرعية الثامنة والخمسين.

1. Expresses its satisfaction at the holding of the fourth Social Forum on 3 and 4 August 2006 and welcomes the report of its ChairmanRapporteur (A/HRC/Sub.1/58/15);
1- تعرب عن ارتياحها لعقد المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع في 3 و4 آب/أغسطس 2006، وترحب بتقرير رئيسه - مقرره (A/HRC/Sub.1/58/15)؛

1. Welcomes the report of the fourth Social Forum held in Geneva on 3 and 4 August 2006 submitted by the Chairman-Rapporteur (A/HRC/Sub.1/58/15);
1- يرحب بالتقرير الذي قدمه رئيس - مقرر المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع المعقود في جنيف في 3 و4 آب/أغسطس 2006 ((A/HRC/Sub.1/58/15؛

2. At its fifty-seventh session the Sub-Commission adopted resolution 2005/8, in which it decided that the theme for the fourth Social Forum 2006 would be " The fight against poverty and the right to participation: the role of women " .
2- واعتمدت اللجنة الفرعية، في دورتها السابعة والخمسين، القرار 2005/8 الذي قررت فيه أن يكون الموضوع الذي سيتناوله المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع هو " مكافحة الفقر والحق في المشاركة: دور المرأة " .

2. At its fifty-seventh session, the Sub-Commission adopted resolution 2005/8, in which it decided that the theme for the fourth Social Forum would be " The fight against poverty and the right to participation: the role of women " .
2- واعتمدت اللجنة الفرعية، في دورتها السابعة والخمسين، القرار 2005/8 الذي قررت فيه أن يكون الموضوع الذي سيتناوله المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع " مكافحة الفقر والحق في المشاركة: دور المرأة " .

4. The fourth Social Forum will be held on 3 and 4 August 2006 in Geneva, during the fifty-eighth and final session of the Sub-Commission, which starts on 31 July 2006. The
4- وسيعقد المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع في يومي 3 و4 آب/أغسطس 2006 بجنيف()، أثناء انعقاد دورة اللجنة الفرعية الثامنة والخمسين والأخيرة، التي ستبدأ في يوم 31 تموز/يوليه 2006.

9. In its resolution 2006/8, the Sub-Commission expressed satisfaction at the holding of the fourth Social Forum on 3 and 4 August 2006, and drew special attention to the significant contribution made to the debate by individuals with experience related to the feminization of poverty.
9 - وفي قرارها 2006/8 أعربت اللجنة الفرعية عن ارتياحها لعقد المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع في 3 و 4 آب/أغسطس 2006، ووجهت اهتماما خاصا إلى الإسهام المهم الذي قدمه في المناقشة أفراد من ذوي الخبرة فيما يتصل بظاهرة تأنيث الفقر.

Bearing in mind that the reduction of poverty and the elimination of extreme poverty remain an ethical and moral imperative of humankind, based on respect for human dignity, and noting the report of the Chairperson-Rapporteur of the fourth Social Forum, held on 3 and 4 August 2006, which focused on " The fight against poverty and the rights to participation: the role of women " ,
وإذ يضع في اعتباره أن الحد من الفقر والقضاء على الفقر المدقع ما زالا يشكلان ضرورة أخلاقية ومعنوية حتمية للبشرية، تقوم على أساس احترام كرامة الإنسان، وإذ يلاحظ تقرير رئيس - مقرر المحفل الاجتماعي الرابع المعقود في 3 و4 آب/أغسطس 2006 الذي ركّز على موضوع " مكافحة الفقر، والحق في المشاركة: دور المرأة " ،
