Committee members expressed the view that the non-governmental organizations on the Roster for the purpose of the work of the Commission on Sustainable Development had in the past been granted consultative status without having to submit to the Secretariat the requisite questionnaire and other documents submitted by organizations applying for Roster consultative status with the Council.
وأعرب أعضاء اللجنة عن رأي مفاده أن المنظمات غير الحكومية المدرجة في القائمة لأغراض عمل لجنة التنمية المستدامة مُنحت في الماضي مركزا استشاريا دون أن يتعين عليها أن تقدم إلى الأمانة الاستبيان المطلوب والوثائق الأخرى التي قدمتها المنظمات التي تطلب إدراجها في قائمة المركز الاستشاري لدى المجلس.

Concern was also expressed by Committee members that the Secretariat did not have any file or documents proving the existence and activities of non-governmental organizations on the Roster for the purpose of the work of the Commission on Sustainable Development, except for a simple form showing the name of these organizations and their contact numbers.

At its 7th meeting, on 3 May, the Council adopted draft decision II, entitled " Expansion of the participation of non-governmental organizations on the Roster for the purposes of the work of the Commission on Sustainable Development " , recommended by the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (E/1999/109/Add.2 (Part I), chap. 49. Owing to the time constraints of its 2000 regular session, the Committee did not consider item 5 of its agenda on applications from non-governmental organizations on the Roster for the purpose of the work of the Commission on Sustainable Development wishing to expand their participation in other fields of the Economic and Social Council.
49 - نظراً لضيق الوقت لم تنظر اللجنة، في دورتها العادية لعام 2000، في البند 5 من جدول أعمالها المتعلق بالطلبات الواردة من المنظمات الحكومية المدرجة في القائمة لأغراض عمل لجنة التنمية المستدامة والراغبة في توسيع نطاق مشاركتها كي يشمل ميادين أخرى يهتم بها المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.

It had before it a memorandum by the Secretary-General containing applications from non-governmental organizations on the Roster for the purpose of the work of the Commission on Sustainable Development to expand their participation in other fields of the work of the Council (E/C.2/2000/CRP.7), pursuant to Council decision 1996/302.
وكان معروضا عليها مذكرة من الأمين العام تتضمن طلبات مقدمة من المنظمات غير الحكومية المدرجة في القائمة لأغراض عمل لجنة التنمية المستدامة لتوسيع نطاق مشاركتها في ميادين أخرى من ميادين أعمال المجلس (E/C.2/2000/CRP.7) عملا بمقرر المجلس 1996/302.

70. The Committee also agreed to the proposal of one member that non-governmental organizations on the Roster for the purpose of the work of the Commission on Sustainable Development wishing to expand their participation in other fields of the Council should be required in future to submit a formal request through the Non-Governmental Organizations Section of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
70 - ووافقت اللجنة أيضا على الاقتراح المقدم من أحد الأعضاء بأن يُطلب في المستقبل من المنظمات غير الحكومية المدرجة في القائمة لأغراض عمل لجنة التنمية المستدامة، والراغبة في توسيع نطاق مشاركتها ليشمل مجالات أخرى للمجلس، أن تقدم طلبا رسميا عن طريق قسم المنظمات غير الحكومية في إدارة الشؤون الاقتصادية والاجتماعية.
