The detention and the mistreatment of Ethiopian civilians remains a serious concern to the Ethiopian Government.
وإن مسألة احتجاز وإساءة معاملة المدنيين الإثيوبيين ما زالت موضع قلق بالغ للحكومة الإثيوبية.

We call for the immediate and unconditional release of these Ethiopian civilians and their repatriation to their homeland under the aegis of ICRC.
وندعو إلى إطلاق سراح هؤلاء المدنيين الإثيوبيين فورا ودون شرط وإعادتهم إلى وطنهم تحت رعاية لجنة الصليب الأحمر الدولية.

Noting with serious concern the fact that Ethiopian civilians remain the central target of the Eritrean regime since day one of its unprovoked aggression against Ethiopia;

- To ensure the immediate and unconditional release of civilian Ethiopian detainees in different concentration and killing camps;
- كفالة الإفراج الفوري وغير المشروط عن المدنيين الإثيوبيين المحتجزين في مختلف معسكرات الاعتقال والقتل؛

Consequently, his delegation once again appealed to the international community to stop the Eritrean regime from continuing to perpetrate brutality and crimes against innocent Ethiopian civilians as a weapon of vengeance for its humiliating defeat on all battlefronts.
ومن هنا فإن الوفد الإثيوبي يحث مرة أخرى المجتمع الدولي على وضع حد لشتى تجاوزات النظام الإريتري الذي يتقاضى من المدنيين الإثيوبيين ثمن هزيمته على جميع الجبهات.

In the meantime Eritrea continued to herd tens of thousands of Ethiopian civilians into concentration camps, which was why Ethiopia had asked the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity to establish a committee to study that situation.

القرار رقم 2/2000 الصادر عن مجلس ممثلي الشعب بجمهورية إثيوبيا الديمقراطية الاتحادية بشأن الفظائع النكراء المرتكبة ضد المدنيين الإثيوبيين في إريتريا

Gravely concerned by the attacks against Ethiopian civilians and serious crimes and abuses committed by the Eritrean military police, the army and security personnel, as well as government-incited mob actions against Ethiopian nationals residing in Eritrea;
وإذ يساوره شديد القلق إزاء ما يرتكبه أفراد الشرطة العسكرية والجيش والأمن الإريتريون من هجمات على المدنيين الإثيوبيين ومن جرائم وانتهاكات خطيرة، فضلا عن الأعمال التي تقوم بها الغوغاء بتحريض من الحكومة ضد الرعايا الإثيوبيين المقيمين في إريتريا؛

(a) Intentional killings, beatings, abductions, disappearances, forced labour and conscription of Ethiopian civilians;
(أ) تعمّد قتل المدنيين الإثيوبيين وضربهم واختطافهم وإخفائهم وتشغيلهم بالسخرة وتجنيدهم؛

(i) Failing to ensure Ethiopian civilians in Eritrea access to employment and medical care;
(ط) عدم كفالة حصول المدنيين الإثيوبيين في إريتريا على العمل والرعاية الصحية؛

In fact, through our Prime Minister, we have brought to the attention of the international community -- including your own country, Mr. President, at the highest level -- what has been happening and perpetrated by the other side against innocent Ethiopian civilians in their own country, even after the signing of the Agreement on Cessation of Hostilities.
والواقع أننا عرضنا من خلال رئيس وزرائنا على المجتمع الدولي بمَن فيه بلدكم، السيد الرئيس، وعلى أعلى مستوى - ما يحدث وما يرتكبه الجانب الآخر ضد المدنيين الإثيوبيين الأبرياء في بلدهم، حتى بعد التوقيع على اتفاق وقف الأعمال العدائية.

Following the agreement on cessation of hostilities signed in Algiers on 18 June 2000 (S/2000/627, enclosure), the regime has escalated its repressive actions against innocent Ethiopian civilians that reside in Eritrea.
فعقب اتفاق وقف القتال الموقَّع في الجزائر في 18 حزيران/يونيه 2000 (S/2000/627، الضميمة)، صعّد النظام أعماله القمعية ضد المدنيين الإثيوبيين الأبرياء المقيمين في إريتريا.

Attacks were increasingly perpetrated against Ethiopian civilians, whether women, children, the elderly, the sick or the internally displaced. Thousands languished in concentration camps, many had been evicted from their homes and farmlands, even stripped of their identities, and those who had resisted had been tortured or killed in the most barbaric way.
إن الاعتداءات تتزايد ضد المدنيين الإثيوبيين - من نساء وأطفال ومرضى ومشردين في بلدهم ذاته -، والآلاف منهم محتجزون في معسكرات اعتقال، وطُرد غيرهم من منازلهم أو مزارعهم، بل انتُزعت منهم هويتهم، ومَن يقاوم منهم يعذّب أو يُفتك به بأساليب وحشية.

Upon instructions from my Government, I have the honour to transmit herewith a communiqué issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia entitled, " Extrajudicial killings, torture, detentions and cases of disappearance being perpetrated by the Eritrean regime against Ethiopian civilians residing in Eritrea " .
بناء على تعليمات من حكومتي، أتشرف بأن أحيل إليكم طيه البلاغ الصادر عن وزارة خارجية جمهورية إثيوبيا الديمقراطية الاتحادية بعنوان " أعمال قتل المدنيين الإثيوبيين المقيمين في إريتريا وتعذيبهم واحتجازهم وحالات اختفائهم التي يرتكبها النظام الإريتري بدون اللجوء إلى السلطة القضائية " .

9. Urges the international community to put pressure upon the Eritrean regime to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of civilian Ethiopian detainees in different concentration and killing camps of Eritrea;
