Crucial elements of any effective approach to sustainable land management will of necessity hinge on support -- human, financial and technical -- from the international community to the national action plans of parties and also to the regional coordination units, which can play a catalytic role in implementation of the five regional annexes to the Convention to Combat Desertification.
