This will enable troop- and police-contributing countries to properly prepare for the meeting and participate more fully, including in the event of a serious incident.

169. The Special Committee further appreciates the voluntary and additional contributions of contingents from troop- and police-contributing countries in funding projects in peacekeeping missions.
169 - وتقدر اللجنة الخاصة كذلك المساهمات الطوعية والإضافية لوحدات البلدان المساهمة بقوات عسكرية والبلدان المساهمة بوحدات شرطة في تمويل المشاريع في بعثات حفظ السلام.

187. The Special Committee underlines the importance of enhancing the triangular cooperation between troop- and police-contributing countries, the Secretariat and the Security Council in addressing the challenges of peacekeeping.
187 - وتؤكد اللجنة الخاصة على أهمية تعزيز التعاون الثلاثي بين البلدان المساهمة بقوات عسكرية والبلدان المساهمة بوحدات شرطة والأمانة العامة ومجلس الأمن بشأن تذليل الصعوبات التي تواجه حفظ السلام.

The Special Committee stresses the need to regularly assess, through consultations among the troop- and police-contributing countries, the Secretariat and the Council, the strength and composition of the peacekeeping operations and the implementation of their mandates, with a view to making the necessary adjustments, where appropriate, according to progress achieved or changing circumstances on the ground.

The Special Committee also underlines the importance of interaction between troop- and police-contributing countries and the Secretariat in the early stages of planning, and requests the Secretariat to produce predeployment threat assessments and make them available to troop- and police-contributing countries before those countries present their pledges to new missions.
188 - وتؤكد اللجنة الخاصة أيضا أهمية التفاعل بين البلدان المساهمة بقوات عسكرية والبلدان المساهمة بوحدات شرطة والأمانة العامة في المراحل المبكرة للتخطيط، وتطلب إلى الأمانة العامة أن تعد في المرحلة السابقة للنشر تقييمات للمخاطر، وأن تتيحها لهذه البلدان قبل تعهدها بالمساهمة في بعثات جديدة.

In this regard, the Special Committee calls on the Department of Peacekeeping Operations to work with troop- and police-contributing countries in designing a visits system which would be mutually beneficial in ensuring a common understanding of United Nations-issued training documents prior to field deployment.

The projects aim to bolster the effectiveness and interoperability of various peacekeeping components and to enable more targeted preparation by troop- and police-contributing countries and capacity-building support to contributing countries by third-country partners.

54. The Special Committee reiterates that troop- and police-contributing countries bear the primary responsibility for maintaining discipline among their contingents deployed in peacekeeping missions.
