In July 2011, an FAO-funded project, implemented in the Cotopaxi area, with the support of the Mountain Partnership secretariat, successfully developed models for sustainable mountain agricultural farms as well as development plans.

٥٣ - وفيما يتصل ببناء القدرات في القرن ٢١ )وهو البرنامج الخاص التابع لبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي لتعزيز قدرات البلدان على تنفيذ مقررات مؤتمر اﻷمم المتحدة المعني بالبيئة والتنمية(، فإن هناك حاجة ملحة الى خلق أو تعزيز قدرات إقليمية ووطنية لتحديد ووضع برامج للتنمية المستدامة في المناطق الجبلية.

Informal " informal " consultations, convened by the Facilitator, Ms. Ana Cristina Rodríguez (Guatemala), on the draft resolution on sustainable mountain development under agenda item 52 (e) (Sustainable development in mountain regions), will be held on Tuesday, 15 November 2005, from 10 to 11.30 a.m. in Conference Room A.

In its resolution 60/198, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to it at its sixty-second session on the status of sustainable development in mountain regions under a sub-item entitled " sustainable mountain development " of the item entitled " Sustainable development " .
