22. UNAMID provides support to the Joint Mediation Support Team, headed by the Joint Chief Mediator who is entrusted with the African Union/United Nations-led political process and mediation efforts between the parties to the Darfur conflict, with a view to achieving a lasting political solution to the conflict.

15. The 2007/08 approved budget provided resources for 18 temporary positions for the Joint Mediation Support Team (including the position of United Nations Special Envoy for Darfur), to be funded under general temporary assistance, for the period from 1 July to 31 December 2007.
15 - تم في الميزانية المعتمدة للفترة 2007/2008 تخصيص موارد لـ 18 وظيفة مؤقتة للفريق المشترك لدعم الوساطة (من بينها وظيفة المبعوث الخاص للأمم المتحدة في دارفور)، على أن تموَّل في إطار المساعدة المؤقتة العامة، وذلك للفترة من 1 تموز/يوليه إلى 31 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2007.

7. Since the establishment of the first integrated operational team, for Darfur, in October 2007 (which became the Sudan integrated operational team in September 2009, covering the United Nations Mission in the Sudan (UNMIS), the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) and the Joint Mediation Support Team, the integrated operational teams have operated as cross-functional teams at the Headquarters level.
