4. In accordance with rule 31 of the rules of procedure as amended by General Assembly resolution 56/509, the General Assembly elected the President of the General Assembly for the fifty-eighth session on 6 June 2003 and on the same day also elected 21 Vice-Presidents and Chairpersons of the main committees.
4 - وعملا بالمادة 31 من النظام الداخلي للجمعية العامة، المعدلة بموجب قرار الجمعية العامة رقم 56/509 المؤرخ 8 تموز/يوليه 2002، انتخبت الجمعية العامة في 6 حزيران/يونيه 2003 رئيس الجمعية العامة للدورة الثامنة والخمسين و 21 نائبا للرئيس ورؤساء اللجان الرئيسية.

1. The Chairman recalled that in accordance with rule 99 (a) of the rules of procedure, as amended by General Assembly resolution 56/509, as well as rule 103, as amended by General Assembly resolution 58/126, annex B, paragraph 9, all the Main Committees were required to elect a chairman and a full bureau.

45. The Chair said that, in accordance with rule 99 (a) of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly and rule 103, as amended by General Assembly resolution 58/126, all the Main Committees should, at least three months before the opening of the session, elect a Chair and a full Bureau.

Rule 99 (a), as amended by General Assembly resolution 56/509 of 8 July 2002, stipulates that all the Main Committees shall, at least three months before the opening of the session, elect a Chairman and that elections of the other officers provided for in rule 103 shall be held at the latest by the end of the first week of the session.
وتنص المادة 99 (أ) بصيغتها المعدلة بموجب قرار الجمعية العامة 56/509 المؤرخ 8 تموز/يوليه 2002 على أن تنتخب جميع اللجان الرئيسية رؤساء لها قبل افتتاح الدورة بثلاثة أشهر على الأقل وأن ينتخب أعضاء المكتب الآخرون، على النحو المنصوص عليه في المادة 103، بحلول نهاية الأسبوع الأول من الدورة كحد أقصى.

The normal retirement age, at which a retiree is entitled to receive full retirement benefits, is 60 years, or 62 years for participants whose participation commenced or recommenced on or after 1 January 1990, as set out in the Regulations of UNJSPF as amended by General Assembly resolution 44/199 of 21 December 1989.
