In resolution 64/146, the Assembly requested the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict to submit a report to the General Assembly containing information on her field visits, on the progress achieved and the challenges remaining on the children and armed conflict agenda.

The Council requests the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict to devise ways to coalesce the donor community in order to address funding gaps, in particular to ensure the timely and sustainable funding of action plans and associated monitoring, and encourages bilateral and international partners to provide financial support and capacity-building in this regard.

I request my Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict to undertake a follow-up visit to the Sudan to assess the situation for children first-hand, to facilitate dialogue with the parties to the conflict and to assess progress in the implementation of the pertinent recommendations of the Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict and the recommendations of my reports on the situation of children in the Sudan.
