We also acknowledge with appreciation the work of the Caribbean Sea Commission in advancing the designation of the Caribbean Sea as a special area within the context of sustainable development, and we invite the international community to continue its support of the Commission.

40. The establishment of the Caribbean Sea Commission by the Association of Caribbean States also underscored the continued commitment of the member States of the wider Caribbean to work towards the recognition of the Caribbean Sea as a special area.

7. In resolution 61/197, the General Assembly took note of the creation of the Commission on the Caribbean Sea by the Association of Caribbean States.
7 - وكانت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 61/197 قد أحاطت علماً بقيام رابطة الدول الكاريبية بإنشاء اللجنة المعنية بالبحر الكاريبي.

15. Welcomes the extensive work done by the Commission on the Caribbean Sea since the adoption of General Assembly resolution 61/197 entitled " Towards the sustainable development of the Caribbean Sea for present and future generations " , including the development of institutional and legal frameworks for Caribbean Sea governance;
15 - ترحب بالعمل المكثف الذي تقوم به اللجنة المعنية بالبحر الكاريبي منذ اتخاذ الجمعية العامة القرار 61/197 المعنون " نحو تنمية مستدامة للبحر الكاريبي لصالح الأجيال الحالية والمقبلة " ، بما في ذلك وضع أطر مؤسسية وقانونية لحوكمة منطقة البحر الكاريبي؛
