20. The organization of the third United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries in the year 2000 was an issue of great importance which had been taken up by the Trade and Development Board at its forty-fourth session, held recently in Geneva.

He also restated his commitment, made at the Third United Nations Conference on LDCs in Brussels, that UNDP seeks to boost South-South cooperation as an area with particular potential for LDCs.

2. The Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries will be held from 9 to 13 May 2011, in Istanbul, Turkey.
