5. The report submitted by the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on Human Rights contains a summary of meetings and activities in which the Special Rapporteur participated from August to December 2005.
5 - يتضمن التقرير الذي قدمه المقرر الخاص إلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان موجزا للاجتماعات والأنشطة التي شارك فيها المقرر الخاص في الفترة من آب/أغسطس إلى كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2005.

The report of the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on Human Rights refers to information received from various States on mercenary activities and on their position with regard to the International Convention against the Recruitment, Use, Financing and Training of Mercenaries, adopted by the General Assembly on 4 December 1989.

It should be noted that the summaries included below reflect urgent appeals, in accordance with the above-mentioned resolution, and replies from Governments only to the extent that they have been included in the latest report of the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on Human Rights which contains information up to 25 November 1994.
٣١- وتجدر ملاحظة أن الموجزات المدرجة أدناه تعكس نداءات عاجلة، وفقا للقرار اﻵنف الذكر، وردودا من الحكومات فقط بقدر ما تكون قد اُدرجت في آخر تقرير قدمه المقرر الخاص إلى لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان وهو التقرير الذي يحوي معلومات حتى تاريخ ٥٢ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ٤٩٩١.

4. The present interim report is based upon information received by the Special Rapporteur up until 20 September 1999 and is to be read in conjunction with the latest report of the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on Human Rights (E/CN.4/1999/37).

The report contains a number of conclusions and recommendations, which supplement those contained in the preliminary note on the mission submitted by the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-ninth session (E/CN.4/2003/79/Add.2).
ويتضمن التقرير عددا من الاستنتاجات والتوصيات، تكَمل تلك الواردة في المذكرة التمهيدية بشأن البعثة والتي قدمها المقرر الخاص إلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها التاسعة والخمسين (E/CN.4/2003/79/Add.2).

This report should be read in conjunction with the interim report of the Special Rapporteur to the General Assembly (A/56/340), as well as previous reports of the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on Human Rights and the General Assembly.

Committee members were particularly interested in the study submitted by the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on the situation of trade in and production of equipment which is specifically designed to inflict torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, its origin, destination and forms (E/CN.4/2003/69).
وقد اهتم أعضاء اللجنة اهتماماً خاصاً بالدراسة المقدمة من المقرر الخاص إلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان بشأن حالة تجارة وإنتاج المعدات المصممة خصيصاً لممارسة التعذيب أو غيره من ضروب المعاملة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة، وعن منشأ هذه المعدات ووجهتها وأشكالها (E/CN.4/2003/69).
