" 5. the Open-ended Bureau noted that, during the year, the Special Committee had closely followed the guidelines set forth in the resolutions of the General Assembly on the pattern of conferences, in particular resolution 51/211 of 18 December 1996.
" ٥ - لاحظ المكتب المفتوح باب العضوية أن اللجنة الخاصة قد اتبعت بدقة، خلال السنة، المبادئ التوجيهية المبينة في قرارات الجمعية العامة بشـأن خطـة المؤتمـرات، ولا سيما القرار ٥١/٢١١ المؤرخ ١٨ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٦.

٥١ - في جلستها ١٤٧٨ المعقودة في ١٨ حزيران/يونيه، نظرت اللجنة الخاصة في مسألة مراقبة الوثائق والحد منها على أساس التوصيات الواردة في تقرير المكتب المفتوح باب العضوية (A/AC.109/L.1868). ونص الفقرات ذات الصلة من ذلك التقرير كما يلي:

47. At its 1466th meeting, on 16 January 1997, by adopting the suggestions relating to the organization of its work put forward by the Chairman (A/AC.109/L.1856), the Special Committee decided to take up as appropriate the item entitled " Pattern of conferences " and to refer it to its Open-ended Bureau for consideration and recommendations.
