My delegation is pleased to note that the Open-ended Working Group to Negotiate an International Instrument to Enable States to Identify and Trace in a Timely and Reliable Manner Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons successfully concluded its negotiations by adopting a draft international instrument.

3. The Open-ended Working Group to Negotiate an International Instrument to Enable States to Identify and Trace, in a Timely and Reliable Manner, Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons held its organizational session at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 3 February 2004.

However, when this Instrument was considered by the United Nations Open-ended Working Group to Negotiate an International Instrument to Enable States to Identify and Trace, in a Timely and Reliable Manner, Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons its report A/60/88 of 27 June 2005 recommended to specifically address the issue of ammunition:
بيد أنه عندما نظر الفريق العامل المفتوح باب العضوية، المكلف بالتفاوض بشأن صك دولي ليمكِّن الدول من تحديد الأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة غير المشروعة وتعقبها في الوقت المناسب وبطريقة يعوَّل عليها، في هذا الصك، أوصى في تقريره (A/60/88، المؤرخ 27 حزيران/يونيه 2005) بضرورة النظر في مسألة الذخيرة على وجه التحديد.

The General Assembly decides to adopt the International Instrument to Enable States to Identify and Trace, in a Timely and Reliable Manner, Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons, contained in the annex to the report of the Open-ended Working Group to Negotiate an International Instrument to Enable States to Identify and Trace, in a Timely and Reliable Manner, Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons.
