B. Issues relating to the implementation of good statistical practices in international organizations

1. The Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities promotes interagency coordination and cooperation on statistical programmes and consistency in statistical practices and development.

The main objective of the Committee is to promote coordination, integration and complementarity among the statistical programmes of international organizations, to prevent programme duplication and to reduce reporting burdens on Member States, and to promote coordination and consistency in statistical practices and development.
2 - ويتمثل الهدف الرئيسي للجنة في تعزيز التنسيق والاندماج والتكامل بين البرامج الإحصائية للمنظمات الدولية، بهدف تحاشي ازدواجية البرامج والتقليل من أعباء الإبلاغ الملقاة على عاتق الدول الأعضاء، وتشجيع التنسيق والاتساق في الممارسات الإحصائية وإعداد الإحصاءات.

28. According to the results of a recent self-assessment survey on best statistical practices, to which 19 countries responded, the following are some of the characteristics of national statistical systems:
28 - ووفقا لدراسة استقصائية للتقييم الذاتي عن الممارسات الإحصائية الجيدة أُجريت في الآونة الأخيرة واستجاب لها 19 بلدا، هناك بضع خصائص ذات أهمية تتسم بها النظم الإحصائية الوطنية هي كالتالي():

(a) To promote coordination, integration and complementarity among the statistical programmes of the international organizations, including the avoidance of duplication and reduction in reporting burdens on member States and to promote coordination and consistency in statistical practices and development;
(أ) تعزيز التنسيق والتكامل والتتام فيما بين البرامج الإحصائية للمنظمات الدولية، بما في ذلك تحاشي الازدواجية، والتقليل من أعباء الإبلاغ الملقاة على عاتق الدول الأعضاء، وتشجيع التنسيق والاتساق في الممارسات الإحصائية وإعداد الإحصاءات؛

(ii) Ad hoc expert groups: meeting of experts to: analyse the advance of the satellite accounts with respect to the priorities set for sustainable development in the region (1); analyse the incorporation of the new international recommendations on nomenclature in national and foreign trade basic statistics practices.
