16. Even if a State party has made every effort to identify all cluster munition contaminated areas, situations might occur where previously unknown contaminated areas are discovered.

1. Each State Party undertakes to clear and destroy, or ensure the clearance and destruction of, cluster munition remnants located in cluster munition contaminated areas under its jurisdiction or control, as follows:
1 - تتعهد كل دولة طرف بإزالة وتدمير أو ضمان إزالة وتدمير مخلفات الذخائر العنقودية الواقعة في المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية والمشمولة بولايتها أو الخاضعة لسيطرتها، وذلك على النحو التالي:

Signs and other hazardous area boundary markers should, as far as possible, be visible, legible, durable and resistant to environmental effects and should clearly identify which side of the marked boundary is considered to be within the cluster munition contaminated areas and which side is considered to be safe;
وينبغي، قدر الإمكان، أن تكون العلامات وغيرها من معالم حدود المناطق الخطرة مرئية ومقروءة ومتينة ومقاومة للآثار البيئية، وأن تحدد بوضوح أيَّ الجانبين من الحدود التي وضعت عليها علامات يعتبر داخل المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية وأيهما هو الجانب الآمن منها.

Action #11 As soon as areas under its jurisdiction or control are known to be contaminated by cluster munition remnants, take all feasible measures to prevent further civilian casualties by effectively preventing unintentional civilian access to cluster munition contaminated areas.
القيام، حال معرفتها بأن مناطق مشمولة بولايتها أو خاضعة لسيطرتها ملوَّثة بمخلفات الذخائر العنقودية، باتخاذ جميع التدابير الممكنة لمنع حدوث مزيد من الإصابات بين المدنيين عن طريق منع المدنيين فعلياً من الوصول غير المقصود إلى المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية.

(a) The State has made every effort to identify all cluster munition contaminated areas (defined in Article 2.11), according to Article 4.2(a)

23. All surveys should, to the degree possible, differentiate between categories of the explosive contamination, distinguishing between cluster munition contaminated areas, mined areas and general UXO contaminated areas, as well as any mixture of the categories.

(a) Survey, assess and record the threat posed by cluster munition remnants, making every effort to identify all cluster munition contaminated areas under its jurisdiction or control;

(e) Conduct risk reduction education to ensure awareness among civilians living in or around cluster munition contaminated areas of the risks posed by such remnants.
(هـ) تتولى التثقيف بمسائل الحد من المخاطر ضمانا لتوعية المدنيين الذين يعيشون في المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية أو قربها بالمخاطر التي تشكلها تلك المخلفات.

10. Article 2.11 defines cluster munition contaminated areas as " ...an area known or suspected to be contaminated by cluster munition remnants. "
تُعرف المادة 2-11 المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية بأنها ' ' ... منطقة يعرف عنها، أو يشتبه في أنها ملوثة بمخلفات الذخائر العنقودية``.

(c) Based on functioning databases and comparable data, provide information on the size and location of all cluster munition contaminated areas under its jurisdiction or control, and provide annually precise and comprehensive information on the size and location of cluster munition contaminated areas released;
(ج) بالاستناد إلى قواعد بيانات صالحة ومعطيات قابلة للمقارنة، تقديم معلومات عن أحجام ومواقع جميع المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية الخاضعة لولاية الدولة أو لسيطرتها، وتقديم معلومات دقيقة وشاملة سنوياً عن أحجام ومواقع المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية التي أفرج عنها؛

(c) Take all feasible steps to ensure that all cluster munition contaminated areas under its jurisdiction or control are perimeter-marked, monitored and protected by fencing or other means to ensure the effective exclusion of civilians.
(ج) تتخذ كافة الخطوات الممكنة لضمان وضع علامات حول الحدود الخارجية لكل المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية والمشمولة بولايتها أو الخاضعة لسيطرتها، ولضمان رصدها وحمايتها بسياج أو غيره من الوسائل، لكي تكفل فعليا صد المدنيين عنها.

(h) To the extent possible, the size and location of all cluster munition contaminated areas under its jurisdiction or control, to include as much detail as possible regarding the type and quantity of each type of cluster munition remnant in each such area and when they were used;
(ح) إلى الحد الممكن، حجم ومواقع كل المناطق الملوثة بالذخائر العنقودية والمشمولة بولايتها أو الخاضعة لسيطرتها، على أن تشمل أكبر قدر ممكن من التفاصيل فيما يتعلق بنوعية كل نوع من مخلفات الذخائر العنقودية، وكميته، في كل منطقة من تلك المناطق، ومتى استُعملت؛

Throughout the past five years, States with obligations under Article 4 reported on the location and size of cluster munitions contaminated areas, on methods applied for survey and clearance of contaminated areas, on measures taken to prevent further civilian casualties, and on the size and location of cluster munitions contaminated areas released.
