وتحث اللجنة أيضاً الدولة الطرف على بذل ما في وسعها لمكافحة التمييز القائم في الدولة الطرف ضد الأشخاص الذين يعانون من المهق، وتحثها، تحقيقا لهذه الغاية، على إقامة تعاون وثيق مع الجمعيات التي تروج لحقوق الأشخاص الذين يعانون من المهق وتحميها، وتقديم الدعم المالي لهذه الجمعيات، والقيام بحملات توعية لمكافحة المعتقدات الخرافية التي تلحق بهم الضرر.

It has been noted that since these measures were introduced by the Government, the incidence of crimes against albinos has decreased significantly.
ولُوحظ أن، عدد الجرائم المرتكبة بحق المهق تراجعت إلى حد كبير بعد ما نفذت الحكومة هذه التدابير.

The families of albinos have been moved to secure locations and provided with the necessary assistance.

9. Right to life of albino children

80. (i) As a measure of protection, the families of albino children in localities there has been violence against albinos, such as Ruyigi, have been temporarily grouped together by the police; (ii) the criminal network has been dismantled and the perpetrators have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
80- `1` جمّعت الشرطة بصورة مؤقتة أسر الأطفال المهق الذين يعيشون في مناطق تعرضوا فيها لأعمال العنف مثل مقاطعة روييجي، كإجراء من أجل حمايتهم؛ `2` قد تم تفكيك شبكة المجرمين وحُكم على الجلادين بالسجن المؤبد.

Misunderstanding of albinism had fostered violations of the fundamental human rights of persons with albinism and remained an impediment to safeguarding their lives and security.
فقد أدى سوء فهم المهق إلى تدعيم انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان الأساسية للأشخاص المصابين بالمهق، وما زال يشكل عائقا أمام حماية حياتهم وأمنهم.
