26. UNU activities concerned with Natural Resources in Africa, carried out through the University's Institute for Natural Resources in Africa, now located at Accra, with a mineral resources unit at Lusaka, are based on the urgent need to improve the capability of African countries to manage and rehabilitate the continent's natural resources and environment by themselves.
٢٦ - وتستند الأنشطة التي تقوم بها جامعة اﻷمم المتحدة في مجال الموارد الطبيعية في افريقيا الى الحاجة الملحة الى تحسين قدرة البلدان الافريقية على إدارة وإنعاش الموارد الطبيعية والبيئة في قارتها بمجهودها الذاتي، وتجري هذه اﻷنشطة عن طريق معهد الجامعة المعني بالموارد الطبيعية في افريقيا، الموجود حاليا في أكرا، غانا، وله وحدة معنية بالموارد المعدنية في لوساكا، زامبيا.

99. Efforts are also being made to mobilize the necessary support to make the UNU's Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU/INRA) the headquarters for the INFOODS regional database in Africa and to include in that database, in addition to food composition data, information on useful African plants of both medicinal and economic value.
٩٩ - وتبذل أيضا جهود لتعبئة الدعم اللازم لجعل معهد الموارد الطبيعية في افريقيا التابع لجامعة اﻷمم المتحدة المقر الرئيسي لقاعدة البيانات اﻹقليمية في افريقيا(INFOODS) ، ولتضمين قاعدة البيانات تلك معلومات عن النباتات اﻹفريقية المفيدة ذات القيمة الطبية والاقتصادية وذلك باﻹضافة الى البيانات المتعلقة بالمكونات الغذائية.
