The General Women's Union of the United Arab Emirates has organized workshops to increase rural women's awareness of their labour rights, as well as rights to pension and divorce.
كذلك فقد نظم الاتحاد النسائي العام بالإمارات العربية المتحدة حلقات عمل لزيادة وعي المرأة الريفية بحقوقها في مجال العمل إضافة إلى حقوقها في المعاشات التقاعدية وفي حالات الطلاق.

The programmes were run by the Women's General Federation in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
ويدير البرامج الاتحاد النسائي العام بالتعاون مع منظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للطفولة )اليونيسيف( ومنظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة )اليونسكو(.

The General Women's Union, women's associations and public welfare associations organize symposiums and lectures on successful family relations and on child-rearing.
كما ينظم الاتحاد النسائي العام والجمعيات النسائية وجمعيات النفع العام الندوات والمحاضرات حول العلاقات الأسرية الناجحة، بالإضافة إلى تربية الأبناء.

The General Women's Union implemented development and educational programmes and provided economic and social assistance to women, children and the family in general.
ويقوم الاتحاد النسائي العام بتنفيذ البرامج التنموية والتعليمية ويقدم مساعدة اقتصادية واجتماعية إلى المرأة والطفل والأسرة بصفة عامة.

The National Strategy for the Advancement of Women in the United Arab Emirates, which was launched by the General Women's Union pursuant to the Beijing Programme of Action, is used by Government institutions as the basic reference in the field of the advancement of women.
وتعتبر الإستراتيجية الوطنية لتقدم المرأة في الإمارات التي أطلقها الاتحاد النسائي العام وفق منهاج عمل بيجين مرجعية أساسية للمؤسسات الحكومية في مجال النهوض بالمرأة.

The General Women's Union, too, with UNDP support, is working to implement a draft national programme for the integration of women, the purpose of which is to make known the concept of integration and equality between the sexes in governmental institutions operating within the State, with a view to the adoption of policies and programmes that guarantee equal opportunity between males and females.
كما أن الاتحاد النسائي العام وبدعم من برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي يعمل على تنفيذ مشروع البرنامج الوطني لدمج المرأة، والذي يهدف إلى التعريف بمفهوم الاندماج والمساواة بين الجنسين في المؤسسات الحكومية العاملة بالدولة لتتبنى سياسات وبرامج تكفل تكافؤ الفرص بين الذكور والإناث.

The General Women's Union uses all the resources at its command to strive for the advancement of women in the United Arab Emirates at all educational, social, economic and political levels and ensure that those women become a meaningful factor in the advancement of the country's sustainable development process.
ويعمل الاتحاد النسائي العام جاهدا من خلال ما يزخر به من كفاءات للنهوض بالمرأة الإماراتية في مختلف المجالات الثقافية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية، لتكون ابنة الإمارات عنصرا فاعلا في تقدم مسيرة التنمية المستدامة للدولة.

The General Women's Union, through the National Gender Mainstreaming Initiative, has carried out an analytical study of stereotypes of women in educational curriculums and is currently coordinating insertion of the proposed amendments with the Ministry of Education.
قام الاتحاد النسائي العام ومن خلال مشروع المبادرات الوطنية للمساواة بين الجنسين بإجراء دراسة تحليلية للصور النمطية للمرأة في المناهج الدراسية ويتم حاليا التنسيق مع وزارة التربية والتعليم بشأن إدخال التعديلات المقترحة.

:: Sponsored by the President of the General Women's Union, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council and the Abu Dhabi Education District, on 24 February 2009, events were held for schools of the Abu Dhabi Education District to mark Women's Sports Open Day.

1. The General Women's Union formed working groups pursuant to official letters sent to 25 federal and local government institutions and civil society institutions. A total of 38 representatives of such institutions participated in the preparation of the report.

87. The General Women's Union has prepared a study entitled " Enlightened Features of the United Arab Emirates Judiciary. " The study examines the extent to which judicial judgments and decisions entrench women's human rights.
84 - ومن جهة أخرى؛ قام الاتحاد النسائي العام بإعداد دراسة بعنوان علامات مضيئة في قضاء الإمارات العربية المتحدة، والذي هدفت من خلاله إلقاء الضوء على الأحكام والقرارات القضائية لمعرفة مدى تكريسها لحقوق المرأة الإنسانية.

The General Women's Federation and UNICEF organized a discussion group with children in the United Arab Emirates in March 2010 to hear the children's views on all issues concerning them.
وتم إعداد حلقة نقاشية مع الأطفال في دولة الإمارات بالاتفاق مع الاتحاد النسائي العام واليونيسيف وذلك في شهر آذار/ مارس عام 2010 للاستماع إلى آراء الأطفال في جميع القضايا التي تتعلق بهم.

Within this context one finds five women's associations in the country, divided among the different Emirates and having branches in the various regions in each Emirate, in addition to the General Women's Union, which was founded on 27 August 2007 and counts among its members the following founding women's associations:
وفي هذا الإطار توجد في الدولة خمس جمعيات نسائية موزعة على مختلف إمارات الدولة ولها فروع في المناطق المختلفة بكل إمارة، بالإضافة إلى الاتحاد النسائي العام الذي تأسس في 27 آب/أغسطس 2007، ويضم في عضويته الجمعيات النسائية المؤسسة له وهي:

CEDAW also recommended that it strengthen the mandate and resources of the General Women's Union to monitor the practical realization of the principle of equality of women and men in the enjoyment of human rights.
وأوصتها كذلك بتعزيز ولاية وموارد الاتحاد النسائي العام من أجل رصد التنفيذ العملي لمبدأ المساواة بين المرأة والرجل في التمتع بحقوق الإنسان(28).

31. Mrs. BADRAN said that, some months previously, she had attended a seminar at Aleppo, organized by the Syrian Women's General Federation, in cooperation with UNICEF, to train government staff and NGOs on the implementation of the Convention.
١٣- السيدة بدران قالت إنها حضرت منذ بضعة أشهر حلقة دراسية في حلب نظمها الاتحاد النسائي العام بسوريا بالتعاون مع منظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للطفولة، لتدريب العاملين في الحكومة والمنظمات غير الحكومية على تنفيذ الاتفاقية.

40. A recent study carried out by the Syrian Women's General Federation, in cooperation with UNICEF and the Central Bureau of Statistics, indicated that there was a tendency for parents, even the better educated ones, to inflict corporal punishment on children or to threaten them with such punishment.
٠٤- وقد أوضحت دراسة أجراها مؤخرا الاتحاد النسائي العام في سوريا بالتعاون مع منظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للطفولة والمكتب المركزي للاحصاءات، أن هناك نزوعا لدى اﻵباء، حتى اﻷحسن تعليما بينهم، لانزال عقوبات بدنية باﻷطفال أو لتهديدهم بمثل هذه العقوبات.
