They represent the broad principles of personnel policy for the staffing and administration of the Secretariat (ST/SGB/2009/6, scope and purpose).

The amendments proposed to ensure that the text of the Staff Regulations are in gender-neutral terms are contained in the scope and purpose provision, in regulations 1.1 (b), 1.2 (c) and (n), 3.3 (a), 8.2, 9.1 (a) and (c), 9.3 (b), 10.1, 10.2 and 11.1 and in paragraph 6 of annex I to the Staff Regulations.
