70. Ships engaged in the carriage of irradiated nuclear fuel, plutonium and high-level radioactive wastes must comply with the International Code for the Safe Carriage of Packaged irradiated nuclear Fuel, Plutonium and High-Level Radioactive Wastes on Board Ships.

The Conference notes the decision in 1997 by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to incorporate the Code for the Safe Carriage of irradiated nuclear Fuel, Plutonium and High-level Radioactive Wastes in Flasks on Board Ships (INF Code) into the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea.
ويحيط المؤتمر علما بالمقرر الذي اتخذته المنظمة البحرية الدولية في عام 1997 لإدماج مدونة النقل المأمون للوقود النووي المشعع والبلوتونيوم والنفايات النووية ذات المعدل الإشعاعي المرتفع في قوارير على متن السفن (INF Code)، في الاتفاقية الدولية لحماية الأرواح في البحر.

The Commission also welcomes the development by IAEA of the Codes of Practice on the International Transboundary Movement of Radioactive Waste and by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) of the Codes of Practice on the Safe Carriage of irradiated nuclear Fuel, Plutonium and High-level Radioactive Waste in Flasks on Board Ships.
