2. In accordance with these requests, the Secretary-General on 19 May 1994 addressed a note verbale to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Israel and to all other Governments requesting information pertaining to the implementation of the resolution by the Government of Israel.

12. By a letter dated 5 September 1995 to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, the Special Rapporteur transmitted the following memorandum of allegations received by him of human rights violations reported to have occurred in Myanmar:

52. On 16 July 1996 and again on 19 August 1996, the Chairman of the Commission wrote to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kenya recalling that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by its note dated 29 February 1996 addressed to the Chairman, had proposed that meetings be arranged between the Commission and the Government of Kenya as soon as the Commission returned to Kenya from New York.

As is well known, the Secretary-General refuted the aforesaid Iraqi position in his letter dated 20 April 1991 addressed to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Iraqi regime, and the Security Council did likewise in the statements made on its behalf by its President on 17 June 1992 and 23 June 1993.
