The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention adopted its opinion No. 47/2005 (Yemen) on the case on 30 November 2005, declaring their detention to be arbitrary as being devoid of any legal basis.
واعتمد الفريق العامل المعني بالاحتجاز التعسفي رأيه رقم 47/2005 (اليمن) بشأن الحالة المؤرخة 30 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2005، معلناً أن احتجاز الشخصين يمثل احتجازاً تعسفياً لعدم استناده إلى أساس قانوني.

UNICEF supported the Government of Yemen on interventions focused on HIV/AIDS prevention among adolescents and young people, including provision of gender-sensitive information and services.
وساندت اليونيسيف حكومة اليمن بشأن التدخلات المركزة على الوقاية من فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز في أوساط المراهقين والشباب، بما في ذلك توفير المعلومات والخدمات المراعية للمنظور الجنساني.

108. In addition to the information provided in the reports of Yemen on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, we shall describe hereunder the main new measures introduced in the area of health in 2009:

The Council welcomed the recent announcement by the President of Yemen on the launch of the National Dialogue Conference on 18 March but expressed concern about reports of interference by individuals representing the former regime, the former opposition and others who did not adhere to the guiding principles of the agreement on the implementation mechanism for the transition process in Yemen.
ورحب المجلس بالإعلان الأخير الصادر عن رئيس اليمن بشأن بدء فعاليات مؤتمر الحوار الوطني في 18 آذار/مارس، ولكنه أعرب عن القلق من التقارير التي تفيد بتدخل أفراد يمثلون النظام السابق، والمعارضة السابقة، وغيرهم ممن لم يلتزموا بالمبادئ التوجيهية للاتفاق المتعلق بآلية تنفيذ العملية الانتقالية في اليمن.

139. In addition to the information already provided in the reports of Yemen on the rights of the child and on the elimination of discrimination against women, we have provided hereunder details on recent measures taken in the education sector. For information on education, reference may be made to the annexes to the present report.

344. The Committee considered the initial report of Yemen on the implementation of the Covenant (E/1990/5/Add.54) at its 35th to 37th meetings, held on 12 and 13 November 2003, and made public, at its 56th meeting, held on 28 November, the following concluding observations.

The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights considered the second periodic report of Yemen on the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (E/C.12/YEM/2) at its 12th, 13th and 14th meetings, held on 9 and 10 May 2011 (E/C.12/2011/SR.12-14), and adopted, at its 29th meeting, held on 20 May 2011, the following concluding observations.

48. On 2 December 2009, the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression and the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders sent an urgent appeal to Yemen concerning the situation of Amal Basha, Chair of the Sisters' Arab Forum for Human Rights.
48- في 2 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2009، أرسل المقرِّر الخاص المعني بتعزيز وحماية الحق في حرية الرأي والتعبير والمقرِّرة الخاصة المعنية بوضع المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان نداءً عاجلاً إلى اليمن بشأن حالة أمل الباشا، رئيسة منتدى الشقائق العربي لحقوق الإنسان.

540. The outcome of the review on Yemen comprises the report of the Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review (A/HRC/12/13), the views of Yemen concerning the recommendations and/or conclusions, and its voluntary commitments and replies presented before the adoption of the outcome by the plenary to questions or issues that were not sufficiently addressed during the interactive dialogue in the Working Group (see also A/HRC/12/13/Add.1).
540- وتتضمن نتائج الاستعراض المتعلق باليمن تقرير الفريق العامل المعني بالاستعراض الدوري الشامل (A/HRC/12/13) وآراء اليمن بشأن التوصيات و/أو الاستنتاجات، وما قدمه قبل اعتماد النتائج من المجلس بكامل هيئته من التزامات طوعية وردود على المسائل أو القضايا التي لم تعالَج معالجة كافية أثناء الحوار التفاعلي الذي جرى في الفريق العامل (انظر أيضاً الوثيقة A/HRC/12/13/Add.1).

61. Consistent with my previous report on sexual violence in conflict, there continue to be concerns in Yemen regarding the link between the presence of armed groups and an increase in rates of early and forced marriage and consequent sexual slavery and abuse among the poorest and most vulnerable girls in society.
61 - اتساقا مع تقريري السابق بشأن العنف الجنسي المتصل بالنزاعات، ما زالت هناك شواغل في اليمن بشأن الصلة بين وجود الجماعات المسلحة وزيادة معدلات الزواج المبكر والزواج القسري وما يترتب على ذلك من استرقاق جنسي وسوء المعاملة في ما بين الفتيات الأشد فقرا والأكثر ضعفا في المجتمع.
