وأهم تلك التطورات: عودة ١٣ فصيل مسلح الى المشاركة بصورة شرعية في العملية الديمقراطية؛ والحوار بين حكومة ميانمار وكل من اﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة، والاتحاد اﻷوروبي؛ وعملية المصالحة مع داو اونغ سان سووكييي؛ بالاضافة الى التقدم الملموس الذي تحقق في المؤتمر الوطني.

Tin Myo Win, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's doctor, was arrested on 6 May 2009 and released on 16 May without any explanation from the authorities for his detention.
ولقد اعتُقل تين ميو وين، وهو طبيب داو اونغ سان سو كي، في 6 أيار/مايو 2009 وأُفرج عنه في 16 أيار/مايو بدون تقديم أي تفسير من جانب السلطات لاحتجازه.

Order 2/88, which prohibits public gatherings of more than five persons, has also been invoked in several arrests lately, including the arrest of people attending Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's weekend speeches delivered at the gate to her home.
٤١- كما أن اﻷمر ٢/٨٨ الذي يحظر التجمعات الجماهيرية التي تضم أكثر من ٥ أشخاص استخدم لتنفيذ عدة عمليات احتجاز مؤخراً بما في ذلك احتجاز أشخاص كانوا حاضرين في الخطب التي تلقيها في نهاية اﻷسبوع داو اونغ سان سو كي من باب بيتها.

36. In the implementation of the mandate entrusted to me by the General Assembly, my Special Envoy and I have continued to encourage the Government of Myanmar to engage in a substantive dialogue with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in order to achieve national reconciliation and to return the country to democratic rule.
36 - وتنفيذا للولاية التي عهدت بها إليَّ الجمعية العامة واصلت ومبعوثي الخاص تشجيع حكومة ميانمار على إجراء حوار موضوعي مع داو اونغ سان سوكي بغية تحقيق المصالحة الوطنية والعودة بالبلد إلى الحكم الديمقراطي.

8. The Special Rapporteur had access to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, General Secretary of the National League for Democracy (NLD), as well as three members of the NLD Central Executive Committee (CEC), who were under house arrest.

49. In my meeting with former Minister for Foreign Affairs Nyan Win in New York on 26 September, I stressed that it was not too late for the Government to make goodwill gestures to enhance the credibility of the elections, including by allowing Daw Aung San Suu Kyi the right to vote and by releasing as many political prisoners as possible.
49 - وفي اجتماعي مع وزير الخارجية السابق نيان وين في نيويورك في 26 أيلول/سبتمبر، شدّدتُ على أن الوقت لم يفت بعد كي تقدم الحكومة ما ينم عن حُسن النية لتعزيز مصداقية الانتخابات، بما في ذلك السماح لداو اونغ سان سو كي بالحق في التصويت والإفراج عن أكبر عدد ممكن من السجناء السياسيين.

56. Lastly, in the context of the recently held elections in Myanmar and other positive developments, particularly the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the adoption of the draft resolution prepared by the European Union would send the wrong signal to the Myanmar authorities.
56 - واختتم قائلاً إن اعتماد مشروع القرار الذي أعده الاتحاد الأوروبي، في إطار الانتخابات التي جرت مؤخراً في ميانمار وغيرها من التطورات الإيجابية، وخصوصاً إطلاق سراح داو اونغ سان سو كي، سوف يرسل الإشارة الخاطئة إلى سلطات ميانمار.

(c) On 28 September small groups of students and others, shouting “Long live Daw Aung San Suu Kyi”, marched towards a meeting point at Shwedagon Pagoda, the roads leading to which were blocked by security forces, soldiers and police.
