The armed conflict in 1980 between Iran and Iraq, for instance, helped certain foreign powers to exploit the situation by lending support to Kurdish armed gangs and encouraging their cooperation with hostile forces, as well as facilitating their mission of entering the partially occupied border region of Kurdistan and carrying out subversive acts prejudicial to national security and the stability of the region.
