The Security Council, in paragraph 6 of its resolution 1644 (2005), acknowledged the Lebanese Government's request that those eventually charged with involvement in the attack be tried by a tribunal of an international character and requested the Secretary-General to help the Lebanese Government identify the nature and scope of international assistance needed in that regard.
وقد أقر مجلس الأمن في الفقرة 6 من قراره 1644 (2005) طلب حكومة لبنان أن يحاكم من توجه لهم في آخر المطاف تهمة الضلوع في الاعتداء أمام محكمة ذات طابع دولي، وطلب إلى الأمين العام أن يساعد حكومة لبنان في تحديد طابع ونطاق المساعدة الدولية التي تحتاج إليها في هذا الصدد.

5. Also requests the Secretary-General to assist the new Director of the Regional Centre in his task of stabilizing the financial situation and revitalizing the activities of the Regional Centre;

2. In paragraph 10 of the Declaration, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to assist in the implementation of the Declaration by taking, within existing resources, the following practical measures to enhance international cooperation:
